“Room is music is room” is an interdisciplinary project by Ecco Meineke / DiLorenzo.
It is exhibition and concert in one:
In January 2013, Ecco Meineke, aka DiLorenzo, visits eleven sculptors in their studios,
in order to select one of their objects according to musical criteria.
He has created a jazz composition for each sculpture.
In the summer, he rents two halls in the cultural center “einstein” in Munich.
For three days, the audience can view the selected sculptures as a pure exhibition (5 pm-8pm)
and / or enjoy the jazz concert that takes place in the midst of the objects.
(from 8pm), the final 4th (sunday) day added a matinee (11am).
The art action was documented by a photographer from the first studio visits
and a video team recorded the concerts.
All objects additional had been scanned through 360 degrees and projected on screen
during the action.
All concerts were also recorded with large studio equipment and already mixed.
The publication in the form of a DVD, an art book or an e-book will be published soon.
An extensive tour of state-, municipal- or private art galleries is planned.
The project was supported by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich
and the “sculpure network international”
